Style Tips for looking CHIC while staying warm

Happy Snowmaggedon, Ya’ll!

12 inches in Chicago this week, 23 inches of snow in Connecticut.. YIKES!
Spending time outdoors means investing in at least one new warm coat!
Check out my top 2 outerwear picks that don’t have a drop of black nylon.

My friend, Liz Williams, creates beautiful wool coats right here in Chitown. ‘The Southport’ in caramel, is the perfect neutral topper: Coat Check.

Go for this timeless mid-length glam number: cozy faux fur.. a leopard print never goes out of style!

Other recommendations include:

Buy a quality jacket. 👉 Investing in yourself is a time-saving practice, and you are worth it. An inexpensive, poor quality jacket won’t protect you from the elements, which can leave you pretty miserable.

No need to wear anything bulky. 👉 When it comes to bundling up in the cold, it’s about choosing the right fabrics. Like wool, down feathers, and nylon are examples that won’t make you feel like the Michelin Man.

Look for weather protection. 👉 Other qualities to seek out in a jacket as the wind chill hits zero, are water + windproof properties. Many top-quality jackets will have a DWR (durable water repellent) protective coating that keeps you dry and warm!
